Living on polluted habitat: A preliminary study of marine debris impact to foraging waterbirds in Muara Angke Mangrove Ecosystem, Jakarta

Mangrove ecosystems are vulnerable to pollution such as marine debris. The presence of debris can affect the waterbird community. present study aims determine and analyze effect on waterbirds in Muara Angke Area. research was undertaken from October November 2020 at three areas: Angke-Kapuk Protection Forest, Nature Tourism Park, Arboretum. Observations were carried out using point count method observations density conducted with shoreline survey developed by NOAA. To find pattern distribution its waterbirds, we implemented Principal Component Analysis (PCA) Spearman Correlation. In total, there 13 species 7 different orders areas. PCA analysis showed 6 variables PC1 namely herbivorous duck , tactical surface visual habitat generalist moderate specialist large . Further, PC2 produces variables, pursuit diving stalking aquatic results correlation indicated that bird significantly negatively correlated trash, those Anhinga melanogaster Egretta garzetta Mycteria cinerea
